ABOUT AURECON HATCH

Aurecon Hatch (formerly Connell Hatch) is a joint venture between two of Australasia's leading management and engineering consulting companies – Aurecon and Hatch – providing management and consulting services in coal, seaboard bulk materials handling facilities and heavy haul rail throughout Australia.

Drawing from the extensive resources of these experienced, multi-disciplinary firms, Aurecon Hatch delivers quality, reliable services and long-term business solutions to its clients, with a focus on technical excellence.

Aurecon Hatch leads the provision of bulk transport infrastructure for Australia’s growing coal export industry and has work in progress on more than 150 million tonnes per annum of new export capacity. This includes mines, railways and coal ports at various stages from feasibility studies through to the A$1.3 billion EPCM for expansion of the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.

Other recent and ongoing projects include:

  • Expansion works at Hay Point, Abbot Point and RG Tanna coal terminals
  • Greenfield coal terminals for Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group and Wiggins Island
  • Rolleston and Blackwater coal handling and preparation plants
  • Jilalan Rail Yard Upgrade and Surat Basin Railway Studies
  • Alpha Coal Mine Rail and Port Developments

In 2006, Aurecon Hatch’s cost-saving and innovative design of the Rolleston Coal Handling Facility Coal Stacker won three significant awards and widespread industry acclaim.

Both Aurecon and Hatch are already significant service providers in the industrial market and have shared a professional relationship since 1972 when both companies first worked together on the Melbourne Underground Rail Loop.
